Supporting Tamale’s Needy with Compassion and Care

Who we are
Markaz Al Bishara is a Ghana based registered local Christian Association. It was founded in 1983 by Rev. Johnson Asare. Bishara is committed to working with the poor and marginalized to promote human transformation by meeting their basic needs and thereby paving the way towards bringing them into a mutual relationship with God.
What we do
Powering potential. Building a better tomorrow

Educational Advancement
In Ghana, due to poverty and social taboo many parents do not send their children (especially girls) to school, even though they recognize the importance of education. Very limited and poor infrastructure for education is another problem. Availability of qualified and skilled teachers is also a challenge that should be addressed along with above issues.
Health & Nutrition Empowerment
Most of the rural poor, especially children and women are malnourished and the affordability and access of nutritious food, and health facilities are big challenge. Many poor pregnant women and children in Ghana don’t get even minimum required nutrition. Pre-natal and post-natal medical complicacies are very common. Infant mortality rate and number of underweight children are quite high.

Micro-Enterprise Development
Micro-Enterprise Development (MED) programs have direct effect on development and poverty reduction. We work at a grassroots level with families within our selected area of Northern Region – Ghana (Tamale Metropolis and Gushegu District Assembly) focusing especially on women, to help them develop new skills, encourage self-sufficiency, and gather the collateral needed to grow their income and reinvest back into their small business.

OUR MISSION
Work with the poor and marginalized to promote human transformation, train and equip members of the Church in Africa holistically for missions and to create the enabling environment for inter-dependency.
